Cool, clear water

10 September, 2011 in Places

Walking along the coastal path in Cornwall, gazing out to sea and marvelling at the depth of colour and clarity of the water, I was moved to take a number of images… one among them was this one, which I took peering over the cliff edge and trying not to think about slipping!

I can’t be certain about the height at which the shot was taken, but would estimate around 120/130 feet. Click the pic for a larger view and see if you can spot the large fish-shaped object.

Another day, another um… day

6 September, 2011 in Places

Tuesday morning, 08:45 and once more I’m sitting here with a cup of coffee having already been to the gym, put a load of washing in the machine, vacuum-cleaned the lounge carpet and generally stooged the net… what else is there to do? Well I suppose I could spring clean the fish tanks, watch some daytime TV, read a book, play guitar… one thing’s for certain, I won’t be going anywhere today with a camera since the rain is lashing down and being driven by strong, gusty winds.

Actually I still have some images to sort from my few days away, so I might just get on with that…

I took quite a lot of photographs of the Cornish coastline: click the image for a larger view.

Wakey wakey!

15 July, 2011 in Transport

No you’re okay, this is nothing to do with Billy Cotton or his band so you can stand easy shipmates…

Actually now I come to think about it, this image has more in common with the excellent Debbie Harry and Blondie than it does with Billy Cotton… hey ho.

It may be the salty old dog in me, but I really rather like watching a ship’s wake.
