With the 2011 RWC almost upon us (the opening ceremony and first match are on Friday 9^th September) I thought I’d add my voice to the screaming millions… that’s screaming millions in the nicest possible sense of course since rugby fans are well known for their sense of respectability and decorum.

As rugby fans the world over already know, the tournament is being hosted in New Zealand this time around and nations from across the globe will be descending upon the Land of the Long White Cloud in the near future to participate. A full list of fixtures and venues can be found on the Rugby World Cup web, along with a whole host of other information.

Being passionate about my rugby and a Welsh person to boot I will of course be following the progress of Wales with the greatest interest… I’ll watching as many of the games as I possibly can on the TV though, not just those featuring the home nations. Of course I haven’t donned a jersey and run out onto the pitch in many a year, but that hasn’t dulled my love of the sport one iota. I always loved the physicality blended with the required skills… so much more appealing to me than the antics of the wendy-ballers on the soccer pitch!

For an alternative view of the cup, drop by frequently… I won’t always promise to enthral you, but I’ll try to keep you entertained, even if it does mean standing on my head!
