Win some, lose some

I thought I’d share a couple more images of a flitting butterfly with you this morning; my aim when photographing this little beast was to freeze the body, but allow some motion distortion of the wings. I can’t say I’m exactly happy with my results. The body parts are crisp enough, but I failed to capture the ‘flutter’ I’d desired. I still think the images are quite pleasing in their way, despite being ‘sub-standard’.

I rather wish the butterfly had turned around so I could photograph it head on, but despite waiting patiently it pointedly refused to co-operate before flitting off to parts unknown.
