Due to a lack of stimulation…

22 February, 2012 in Flora, People, Places

I find myself in the midst of a mental blockage. No-one to blame but myself for the dearth of activity here though I should admit I am far from inactive away from Blogland, as the calluses on my fingers will attest. That aside though I stumbled upon a rather beautiful image earlier that brought me in mind of my pal Jake and her recent trip to the Arizona desert. Jake was quite taken by some of the wonderful cacti growing in the sun and also somewhat bothered by the fact that criminal types go out of their way to go cactus rustling – not a crime for the average little prick of a thief I suspect.

So anyway, about this picture: it features part of the Mojave Desert in south-west Utah where for a few short weeks every few years the Scorpion Weed flower takes over and bathes the desert in glorious colour.

Isn’t that fantastic? I can see you nodding from here so I guess you obviously agree with me.

There you go Jake, I dedicate this post to you. Not exactly a rose for a rose, but still…
